District Employment and Counselling Centre Srinagar nomination of Meritorious Sports persons.

ATTENTION MERITORIOUS SPORTS PERSONS OF DISTRICT SRINAGAR

The nomination of eligible candidates for the Appointment of Meritorious Sports persons in the Department of Posts in the cadre of Postal Assistant.

This office in receipt of the communication from the Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle Jammu regarding the nomination of eligible sportspersons for one post of postal Assistant earmarked for sports category in District Srinagar. As per the detailed notification No: 1-100/SPR, Dated: 05-August-2020 the basic eligibility for Postal Assistant is mentioned as under:

a) The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized University or Board of School Education or Board of Secondary Education and should have studied Hindi as a subject at least in matriculation or equivalent.

b) The candidates must be between the age of 18-27 years as on the last date prescribed for receipt of applications, relaxation of 5 years for sports quota recruitment (10 years in case of those belonging to SC & ST).

c) The candidates of higher qualifications will also be considered but they have to fulfill the above conditions. There are no bonus marks for higher education.

d) The candidates will be required to furnish certificate of Basic ComputerTraining from a recognized Computer training institute before issuance of appointment letter. ComputerTraining Certificates from Central Government/State Government/University/boards etc. will also be acceptable for the purpose. This requirement of Basic Computer Knowledge is relaxable in cases where a candidate has studied computer as a subject in matriculation or Class XII or Higher educational qualification and in such cases a separate certificate will not be insisted upon.

SPORTS ELIGIBILITY:

Appointments will be made of sportspersons considered meritorious with reference to the following criteria:

a) Sportsmen who have represented a State or the Country in the National or International competition in any of the games/sports.

b) Sportsmen who have represented their university in the Inter-University sports Boards in any of the sports/games.

c) Sportsmen who have represented the State School Teams in the National sports/games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the sports/games.

d) Sportsmen who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

All the meritorious sportspersons of District Srinagar who fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in the notification are advised to register their names with this office upto31st August 2020.
