Background : Government of India has taken a major initiative to promote e-Governance throughout the country at large scale. Under this broad initiative, many of the government processes have been automated by leveraging the use of Information Electronics & Communication Technology (IECT). Dependence on IECT is increasing day by day and this has also thrown open, a variety of data security challenges. Objective: Today for any organisation protecting its data against unauthorized access and managing the IT enterprises is biggest challenge. Department of Electronics & IT (DeitY), Govt, of India has identified this as a critical area and therefore has envisaged to generate Information Security Awareness and best practices in a planned manner through its ISEA project to upgrade the skills and capabilities of officials in Central/State Governments, Law Enforcement Agencies, Judiciary, Civil, etc RoleofNIELIT:
Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) has designated NIELIT J&K to undertake capacity building in J&K State by organising free-of-charge training programs under ISEA project. NIELIT invites nominations from Government officials through their respective departments for following programs to be conducted at NIELIT University Campus, Jammu on first come, first-serve basis.

(1) 01-Week Basic Course in Information Security Eligibility : Working Knowledge of Computers Last date of receiving nomination: 22.01.15           Date of commencement: 27.01.15
(2) 01-Week Course in Linux System Security and Administration Eligibility : Working Knowledge of Computers in Networked Environment Last date of receiving nomination: 27.01.15          Date of commencement: 02.02.15
