The order which was announced in the case titled Arvind Kant Versus State by Justice Alok Aradhe provides relief to about 80,000 candidates who had appeared in this exam all over the State for 1008 posts of different departments. It is pertinent to mention that exam could not be conducted in a centre of Bhaderwah which is why petitioners had obtained status quo from the High Court in June this year. The Chairman SSB, Simrandeep Singh, personally appeared in the court along with the State Counsel, Raman Sharma and apprised the court that the future of 80,000 candidates is at stake if the process is delayed.
The Court was also informed that an expenditure of Rs.2 crore has already been made by the Board in holding this exam, which was already cancelled once in 2016. The court accepted the argument of SSB to proceed ahead but only after conducting the exam of about 500 candidates who were allotted the centre in Boys HSS, Bhaderwah. The court also directed the SSB to ensure that the question paper is made as per the standard principle of equivalence which does not give any advantage to any candidate.
