Sub: Short-listing of candidates for the post of Horticulture Development Officer in Agriculture and Production Department.

Notice

Dated: 08- 03-2016

Whereas, the Agriculture and Production Department vide communication No. Agri/ Horti/7-B/2009 dated 11.06.2013 had referred 22 (OM=17,RBA=02, SC=01,ST=01& ALC=01) of posts of Horticulture Development Officer in Agriculture &Production Department to the J&K Public Service Commission for being filled up through direct recruitment from amongst the eligible/suitable candidates in accordance with the sanctioned Gazetted recruitment Rules, issued vide SRO NO.161 dated 23.04.2002; and

Whereas, the J&K Public Service Commission, vide Notification No. 10-PSC(DR-P) of 2013 dated 20.06.2013 invited applications on prescribed format from the permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir possessing the below mentioned prescribed qualification:- “M.Sc. Horticulture. In case of non-availability B.Sc. Horticulture/Agriculture”

Whereas, in response to the above said Notifications, the Commission received 266 applications; and

Whereas, these applications have been scrutinized and certain deficiencies have been found; and

Whereas, in terms of Rule 40-ll(b) of J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 short-listing of candidates is to be done on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification and weight-age to be given to higher qualification.

Now, therefore, the following candidates are hereby shortlisted in pursuance of Rule 40-11 (b) of J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure Rules) 1980 on the basis of marks obtained in basic qualification and weight-age accorded to higher qualification: –

The above mentioned shortlisted candidates are advised to submit their deficient documents as indicated against each in the above table in the office of Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission, Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu/Solina, Srinagar within ten (10) days i.e. on or before 18.03.2016 from the date of issuance of this notice, failing which their candidature shall be rejected without any further notice.

The criteria adopted for calculation of merit of the candidates has been worked out as per the table given below: –

However, the candidates who have also applied for the said post and do not fall in the shortlist criteria may represent to the Commission with sufficient proof of having higher merit than the candidates shortlisted within ten days positively.

The Cut- Off merit in respect of each category is as under: –

The petitioners who have also applied for the said posts and obtained court directions shall also be allowed to participate in the selection process in pursuance of Court Orders issued in SWP No.1870/2013, IA No.2936/2013, C/W SWP No.1020/2011 titled Muzaffar Ahmed Mir & Others Vs State of J&K & Others at their own risk & responsibility as and when interview of candidates is held, provided they submit an application with a documentary proof before the Commission.

Corrections/changes, if any, shall be notified separately.
