NTA JEE (Main) and NEET Exam update.

NTA Conduct of JEE (Main) April September 2020 and NEET May / September 2020.

On the request of the students, the JEE (Main) and NEET (UG). which were earlier scheduled to be held in the month of July, were postponed to be held in the month of September 2020,

In view of the academic interest of the students, these exams are now scheduled to be held as follows:

1. JEE (Main) – 1-09-2020 to 6-9-2020

2. NEET(UG)- 13-9-2020

The Hon’blc Supreme Court has also, inter alia, ordered that “We find that there is absolutely no justification in the prayer made for postponement of the examination in question relating to NEET UG-2020 as well as JEE (Main) April. 2020.”

NTA lias, since then, released Admit Cards of JEE (Mam) Examination The Admit Cards of NEET (UG) 2020 will also be released shortly and the NTA has ensured that more than 99% candidates get their first choice of Centre Cities in both of these examinations.

The number of Examination Centers have also been increased from 570 to 660 (in case of JEE Main) and 2546 to 3843 (in case of NEET (UG) 202(1) JEE (Main) is Computer Based Test (CBT) and NEET (UG) is per paper-based test. Additionally, in case of JEE (Main), the number of shifts has been increased front the earlier 8 to 12. and the number of candidates per shift has been reduced from earlier 1.32 lakh to 85000 now.

8.58 lakh and 15.97 lakh candidates have been registered for JEE (Main) and NEET (UG) 2020 respectively. State wise distribution of candidates and centers, applicable to the ensuing examinations in September 2020. vis-a-vis the examinations held last (January 2020 for JEE (Main) and May 2019 for NEET (UG)) is attached at Anncxure I and Annaxure 2. In order to meet the social distancing requirements, there has been a substantial increase in the number of centres.

In order to ensure proper social distancing inside the examination hails, the candidates will be seated in alternate scats in case of JEF. (Main). In case of NEET (UG). the number of candidates per room has been reduced from earlier 24 to 12. now.

For ensuring social distancing outside the examination hall, the entry and exit of candidates has been staggered Adequate arrangements have also been made outside the exam
