SOCIAL WELFARE JAMMU POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP 2016-17 for SC, EBC, OBC, PCP CLASSES

Applications invited for grant of Post-matric Scholarship from students belonging to Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Classes, Economically Backward Classes & Physically Challenged Categories for the year 2016-17.

Fresh/Renewal Applications from eligible students are invited for grant of Post-matric Scholarship for the year 2016-17 under following categories:-

1. Scheduled Castes (SC’s)
2. Economically Backward Classes (EBC’s)(i.e. other than reserved category candidates).
3. Other Backward Classes, (OBC’s)
4. Physically Challenged students, (PCP’s)

The value of scholarship include maintenance allowance plus non refundable fee compulsorily payable by the student, studying in Government or Private Institutions recognized by the Govemment/UGC/Board of Technical Education and similar Statutory Professional Councils of India for recognized courses.
01. The application form shall be attached with following documents:- One passport size photograph duly attested by Head of Institution.
02. Permanent Residence Certificate (State Subject Certificate).
03. Parents /Guardians current income certificate, in original, from the concerned Tehsildar (in case of students whose parents/guardians are not Government employees). In case of wards of Government employees/Pensioners, salary certificate/Pension Certificate issued by the concerned Drawing and Disbursing Officers/concerned authorities.
04. (Valid) Category Certificate (OBC, SC) from the competent authorities.
05. For Economically Backward Classes (EBC’s) only those students who do not belong to any reserved category and their parents/guardian’s annual income is less than one lakh from all sources.
06. Disability Certificate- (indicating 40% & above disability) in case of Physically Challenged students (PCP).
07. Aadhaar Number alongwith xerox of Aadhaar Card.
08. Payment of Receipt of Fee or authorization for being sponsored by the Institution under above said category/scheme issued by the Institution.
09. Duly attested Promotion Certificate, in case student has passed previous examination for which scholarship is already received (Renewal Cases).
10. Valid Hosteller or Non-Hosteller Certificate issued by the Institution.
11. In case of the students pursuing various academic/professional courses in Private recognized Institutions, the documentary proof of recognition by Central / State Govt./UGC/State Board of Technical Education/Statutory Professional Councils.
12. Attested Fee structure duly approved by Central/State Government (in case of Private recognized Institutions).
13. Affidavit on stamp paper (as per the format given) in the Application Form.

THE GRANT OF SCHOLARSHIP IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING:-
I. Mere filling of application form will construe no right on the student that he/ she will be granted scholarship.
II. III. IV. Preference will be given to the Government Institutions. Scholarship will be restricted to availability of funds and also the merit and income. In case of professional courses under the scheme, the scholarship will be available to only those students who are admitted against ‘free seats’ whether in Government or private institutions on the basis of the marks obtained in 12th standard.
V. In case of Private, recognized Institutions where the genuinely eligible students are perusing various professional/academic course the institutions shall have to furnish the performance report of last three years to the concerned DSWO.
VI. The income limit prescribed for various categories is as under:-

■ Other Backward Classes(OBCs)/Economically Backward Classes (EBCs)

Rs/1, 00,000/p. annum & Physically Challenged:-Rs/44,500/p. annum

■ Scheduled Caste: – Rs/2, 50,000/p. annum

The application forms (as per prescribed proforma annexed as Annexure “A”) shall be submitted by the students to the concerned Head of the Institution by or before 10-11-2016. The concerned Head of the Institution will receive and consolidate only those forms who have passed their previous examination alongwith above mentioned certificates/documents alongwith his/her individual recommendations on each application form and submit in the concerned District Social Welfare Office by or before 20-11-2016.

However, the students pursuing various recognized courses outside the State can submit their application forms, complete in all respects, through the Head of the concerned Institution to Directorate of Social Welfare, Jammu, Haj House 2nd Floor, Bahu Plaza Jammu, by or before 10-11-2016.

Moreover, the students who are pursuing various Professional/Technical and Academic courses in Kashmir Province shall submit their Application forms, complete in all respects, through the Head of the concerned Institution to Directorate of Social Welfare, Kashmir as per their advertisement notification.

Please note:-

> No application form shall he entertained after expiry of the scheduled date.

> (Income certificate with cutting/mutation/ohtained by Naib Tehsildar will lead to rejection of Application forms.)

> Incomplete application form if any submitted by student will be out-rightly rejected.
