Cluster University of Jammu invites applications from the eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professors on permanent basis in the Pay Level 10 of 7th CPC Rs. 57700-182400 on all India basis, so as to reach in the office of the Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu, adjoining GGM Science College, Canal Road, Jammu Pin code: 180001 on or before 31-08-2019 up to 3.00 p.m. for the following subjects:

Qualifications/Eligibility conditions (A or B)

A.

i. A Masters degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET :

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;

b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;

c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;

d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;

e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CS1R or any similar agency.

The fulfilment of these conditions is to he certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.

OR

B. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Basic Qualification:

• MCA/M.Tech/B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science/B.E. (IT)/M.Sc. Computer Science with atleast 55% of aggregate marks (50% for in-service candidate) from any recognized University. The candidate should preferably have at least two years experience in software development in educational or any other reputed Organisation.

ii. Preferential Qualification:

• Working Knowledge of software development in Dot Net framework, RDBMS: Oracle/Ingress/Sybase, DB/2 etc. in DOS/Unix/Windows active environments. • Working knowledge of Web based application development using Open source software. Third party API integrations, Managing Server integrations. • Exposure to networking platforms and working knowledge of any Networking Operative System.

Consolidated salary per month Rs. 28000/-

i. Basic Qualification:

• MCA/B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science/BCA with minimum two years experience with at least 60% of aggregate marks.

ii. Preferential Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Web based application development using HTML. CSS, JavaScript, CSS framework such as Backbone, Bootstrap, and Foundation and back-end languages like Java, PHP, and tools such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server.

• Have experience in developing and maintain PHP/MySQL based web applications and websites.

• Have experience in building Responsive UI design with industry standard frameworks.

Other Conditions:-

1. The period of engagement will be for one year or till the permanent arrangement is made whichever happens to be earlier.

3. After completing the process of selection, a panel shall be drawn for each post which shall hold good for one year.

4. The engagement on each position shall be purely on temporary basis and the candidate will have no claim for permanent appointment in the University on the basis of such engagement.

Cluster University Jammu invites application for Assistant Professors/Teaching Assistants.

Applications are invited on the prescribed form from the eligible candidates for the temporary posts of Assistant Professors/Teaching Assistants for the academic session 2019-20 to be engaged on contract basis as an academic temporary arrangement on a consolidated salary as per University norms in the following subjects being taught in five Schools of the Cluster University of Jammu situated in five Constituent Colleges of the University so as to reach in the office of Assistant Registrar Establishment, Administrative Block at G.G.M. Science College Jammu on or before 29^th June, 2019 upto 03:00 P.M. through registered/speed post only.

Subjects: English, Mathematics, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Commerce, Home Science, Education, Botany, Zoology, History, Linguistics and EVS.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL SUBJECTS EXCEPT HISTORY:-

For Assistant Professors

1. Master Degree in concerned stream having good academic record. Good academic record means at least 55% Marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from any recognized University in the Country.
2. NET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities.

Provided, however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions.

• In case the eligible candidates possessing NET/SET/Ph.D. are not available, the candidates having Master’s degree with 55% may also be considered as Teaching Assistants. Their salary shall be as per University norms.

QUALIFICATION FOR HISTORY

1. Master’s Degree in History/Museology/Archaeology with not less than 55% of marks. Preference will be given to candidates having Ph.D in Museology/Archaeology/Cultural History.
2. NET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities.

• Provided, however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall he exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities.

Salary

Consolidated salary for the candidates selected with NET/SET/Ph.D. qualification shall be Rs. 28000/- P.M. and that of the candidates having Master Degree with 55% Marks shall be Rs. 22000/- P.M.

Period of Engagement

The period of engagement shall be up to the end of Academic Session 2019-20 or one year or the vacancy against which the appointment is made is filled up on regular basis whichever happens to be earlier.

Other Conditions

The number of posts to be filled up in each subject shall be decided as per requirement of the University.

Candidates in their own interest are advised to be in touch with the office of the Cluster University of Jammu to know about the date, venue and time of the interview.

The short listed candidates will be invited for the interview to be held in Cluster University of Jammu.

NOTE:

1. However, candidates seeking exemption from NET/SLET/SET are required to produce a bona-fide certificate from the concerned University(s) to the effect that the said candidate has been awarded PhD. Degree in conformity with the UGC Regulations i.e. all the conditions laid down in University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for Award of PhD. Degree) Regulations, 2009 are fulfilled by them at the time of submitting their PhD, thesis).

Besides the prescribed qualification mentioned above, the criteria for selection of candidates for the post of Assistant Professors is indicated below:

1. Academic Record and Research Performance (50 marks)
2. Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching Skills (30 marks) e. Teaching experience 10 marks and 1 point per academic year for UG Teaching) and 20 marks for teaching skills based on a lecture on a topic in a subject.
3. Interview performance (20 marks).
