Traffic Updates for 15.03.2016
Continuous rainfall for last four days all along the NHW-1A and 1-B resulted in shrinking of existing road formation at some places like Mandir point Patnitop, Nashri, Peerah, Mehar, Marog, Battery Chasma and Sher Bibi due to which two heavy vehicles cannot pass simultaneously at these locations. Before the stretches could be made worthy for two way traffic, one way regulated movement of heavy vehicles with certain restrictions shall be enforced for coming few days for hassle free movement of traffic on NHW. As such the following plan regarding movement of traffic on NHW-1A and IB shall be followed for 15.03.2016:-
From Jammu (Nagrota), Srinagar bound passenger as well as private vehicles will be allowed to move only between 05 AM to 02 PM.
Kashmir bound load carriers carrying live stock, vegetables, fruits and other perishable commodities and tankers carrying oil and milk shall be allowed from Nagrota and Manwal in between 05 AM upto 1 PM.
No Srinagar bound vehicle will be permitted to cross Udhampur (Jekhani Chowk) after 3.30 PM.
From Nagrota, Jammu movement of all kinds of traffic bound for Doda and Kishtwar shall be allowed from 5 am to 2 pm only.
From Qazigund, passenger as well as private vehicles shall be permitted to move towards Jammu only between 7 AM to 4 PM while movement of all kind of heavy vehicles except trailers shall be permitted between 8 AM to 2 PM.
Mughal road closed for all sort of traffic till further orders.
Srinagar – Kargil road closed for all sort of traffic.
Bandipore-Gurez road closed for all sort of traffic.
Synthan-Kishtwar road closed for traffic.
